How long does it give somebody a lift for a cigarette to dissolve within the loam?

I often wonder how long it would bring, as i think I be told some time ago that it was contained by the area of 10 years since it fully broke down, but I wanted to know if near has be any scientific evidence of this?
Would be right if they also advertised on the pack the correct disposal of cigarettes too :)

The tobacco goes correctly quickly (depending on soil conditions), the rag takes a bit longer, but a filter can pilfer forever.
about 15 years surrounded by the sea i know of
The actual tobacco slice of the cigarette not long at all, it's the filter that are resistance to breaking down. I honestly do not know how long they take to break down.
